Dementor comenzo su existencia como una banda de 3 integrantes en agosto de 1988, y en el comienzo ellos producian el tipico Thrash/Death Metal influenciado por bandas como: Venom, Slayer, Possessed, Celtic Frost, Kreator, Death.

Y desde su comienzo hasta hoy han tenido una gran variedad de cambios de musicos y que esta seguido de una confortable discografia compuesta por 6 discos de larga duracion, y todos tienen la cuota justa de brutalidad, tecnica y blasfemidad, siendo el mas reciente el disco " Faithless" lanzado el año pasado (2008)
